Step onto the mat with I.K.O.N Kyokushin Singapore. Whatever your age or background, the path begins the same way, one bow, one breath, one step.

01, Who can join

The dojo is open
to everyone aged six
and above.

Children, youth, and adults train side by side under the same principles , Passion. Patience. Perseverance. No prior experience is required to begin.

Children

From 6 years old, the minimum age to begin training. Parents are welcome to watch, or join us on the mat.

Youth & Adults

Open to all ages above six. No prior martial arts experience required, beginners train alongside seasoned karateka.

Special Considerations

Students with special needs are supported with closer attention and an assistant instructor where helpful.

02, What you'll train

Every class moves through the same four foundations, drilled, refined, and sharpened on the tournament floor at the Singapore Karate Classic with invited guest Daihyo Masanaga Nakamura.

Kihon
基本

Fundamentals. Stances, strikes, blocks, and kicks repeated until they live in the body.

Kata

Prescribed forms that pass down the technical and spiritual lineage of Kyokushin.

Kumite
組手

Full-contact sparring, the discipline that defines Kyokushin and forges real spirit.

Self-Defense
護身

Practical application of Kyokushin technique for everyday situations and personal safety.

Three dojos.

Train weekly at any of our locations. New students are welcome to begin at the dojo most convenient for them.

Note: classes do not run on public holidays. Schedule or venue changes are communicated via the dojo WhatsApp chat group.

04, Your first class

What to expect.

You'll be welcomed by the instructors, introduced to dojo etiquette, and guided through warm-ups, basics, and partner work. Train at your own pace, push hard, ask questions, and bow in with respect.

For your trial visit, wear comfortable athletic clothing. A gi is not required until you decide to continue.

05, Requirements

What to bring.

  • Karate uniform (gi), required for regular training, purchased directly from dojo instructors.
  • Hand guards and shin-step guards, required every class.
  • Water and a willingness to train hard. Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
